Lis 301

I have a question to those of you that have already taken Self Directed Learning. Did you feel the amount of homework in this class was comparable to the rest of your on-line classes? I am trying to fit in eight hours next semester, but I know if I take two courses that require this much time, I will not be able to do them justice. Thanks
Beth

I'll be interested in other's actual experience but I wanted to share a rule of thumb. For every hour of credit, expect to spend 3-4 hours each week. So 8 hours should take 24-36 hours of time. Of course, class work ebbs and flows so maybe your don't need to spend this much time every week, based upon the assignments. Still, you never know when both classes will expect a lot from you in the same week.

Hi Beth, I thought 301 was a lot of work too. But mainly because of the kind of work that is assigned. There were a lot of writing assignments and lots of self examination. I think it takes some time to creatively write about yourself while staying within the assigned framework. By the end of the class I was REALLY tired of writing about myself. I have had courses since then that were more challenging (Beatles), but most others seemed like less work.

Thanks for the time table, I am right on course, because I am falling within that range.
Beth C,I agree it is difficult talking about yourself so much, I sure have to think about it a little more.
You took a class on the Beatles and it was more challenging?
